Craftsmanship can be written into
code and solder points.

Turning identity, emotion, and expression into a small screen you can wear every day.

Our starting point with Beambox e-BADGE was simple.

To turn identity, emotion, interests, and social expression from a static piece of paper into a small screen that can express itself.

But very quickly, we realized something important.

The hardest part of an electronic badge is not whether it can display — it's whether it can be worn comfortably over time.

You walk. You raise your arms. You carry a backpack.

There is constant movement and friction. When any detail is even slightly off, that small issue gets amplified through daily use: it wobbles, it rotates, it rubs, it loosens — and in the worst cases, it falls off.

The Obsession with 1 Millimeter

So we set an almost obsessive standard for ourselves: the key tolerances of the wearing structure must be controlled at the 1-millimeter level.

1mm

One millimeter more, and the badge feels loose and unstable. One millimeter less, and assembly becomes tight; over time, friction increases and wear appears.

This is not a number on a design drawing. It is a difference you feel every day you wear it.

Doing the Hard Work

To achieve that 1 millimeter, we chose the slowest — and most effective — approach: repeatedly refining the structure and tooling. If a mold didn’t feel right, we replaced it. If a stress point wasn’t ideal, we reopened the mold.

Over time, we went through many sets of molds, with total investment reaching a million-level scale. Not to showcase how much we spent — but because we know this simple truth: only when the invisible details are done right will every day of wearing the product feel effortless.

FAQ

Q: Why emphasize 1 millimeter?
A: Because differences in wearing comfort are rarely measured in centimeters, but in the tiniest details. That 1mm defines the line between "wearing something" and "feeling nothing".
